the Hope of the Faithful

About 2 Thursdays ago, I had a most interesting experience….one of epic proportions. Or perhaps I should say, one of ‘David & Goliath’ proportions. In karate, we are trained to use our spirit, skill, & strength to face challenges. This incident certainly summoned all of my spirit, all of my mental skills and strength. It has taught me many lessons….positive as well as negative ones….but nevertheless lessons that should be learned, and learn them I did.

Details are boring, lessons are more interesting. What did I learn?
That, with God & truth behind him, David needed only one stone against Goliath.
That lips of deceit will be silenced;
Fat hearts and haughty minds will be cast out like the dirt on the streets;
Men of low degree are a vapor, men of high degree are a lie; weighed in the balances, they are altogether lighter than vapor.
and
The hope of the faithful is eternal.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and redeemer….Ps.19
