the Hope of the Faithful

March 20th, 2006

About 2 Thursdays ago, I had a most interesting experience….one of epic proportions. Or perhaps I should say, one of ‘David & Goliath’ proportions. In karate, we are trained to use our spirit, skill, & strength to face challenges. This incident certainly summoned all of my spirit, all of my mental skills and strength. It has taught me many lessons….positive as well as negative ones….but never ...

Christmas 2005

December 24th, 2005

This Christmas, as we are reminded of how much God loves all of us to send His son, Jesus Christ, to be born as one of us to give us eternal life, let me wish everyone a blessed Christmas!

May you, your loved ones, and every corner of your home be filled with the peace that is so precious and so easily escapes us; may you be blessed with health and wealth; may the bells of joy and harmony rin ...

Fred’s dog lay sprawled beside him, covered by a much thicker and warmer blanket.

“Brother, can you spare a dime?” Fred had asked Pete. But Pete did not look ...

Strategic Assessments

October 26th, 2005

Each time I take Casper out for his walk, he stops right outside the front door…. makes an assessment, before stepping determinedly into the direction that he wants to go for that particular walk. I wonder what goes through his mind at that moment. He seems to be making a mental examination before making his first move!

A strategic assessment of the way, the weather and the terrain? Perhaps a ...

Weather

July 10th, 2005

July 10, 2005
Ten days into the last half of 2005! Really…how time flies. They say if you don’t have anything to say, talk about the weather. It has been rather nice, inspite of the gray skies and the rain. We must have needed the rain, otherwise it would not have come down so much! I had not realized how long I had been away from here…..so caught up with everything else that is happening. Th ...
